Who can make an LPA?

Anyone can make an LPA, provided they are considered capable of understanding the meaning and effect of the LPA they wish to make.

A doctor's advice should be obtained if there is any doubt about your capacity to understand. If the doctor confirms that you are able to understand, it is a good idea for them to witness your signature.

You can revoke an LPA if you wish but only while you are still considered to be mentally capable.
